Spring/Summer Collection – Fashiongasms Boutique
Will this be an NBA season this year? I really hope so. It doesn't look good right now. And that's not good news for anyone. Not the NBA. Not the owners. Not the players. And definitely not the fans. But perhaps the people who would be most hurt by an NBA lockout are the diehard sneakerheads who live to release the next sick basketball shoe. The signature sneaker lines are most affected by the blunt lockout. The idea of having to go a full NBA regular season without a Kobe Bryant or Lebron James signature sneaker is pretty daunting for a lot of sneakerheads. But if I know Nike, and specifically Jordan Brand, who I think I know about these two, the lack of a basketball season will not deter them from making new sneakers. And that's good news for sneakerheads in general and Jordanheads in particular.
The guys at Jordan Brand have and will continue to expand on the successes of Jordan 2011. The latest and greatest shoe to use the 2011 technology comes to us in the form of Air Jordan 2011 A Flight. This new model uses the Nike Flywire technology for easy and stable driving. Varsity royal is used on a mainly black leather upper. Varsity royal is also used on the midsole. The always very cool translucent icy outsole is used here and a royal blue Jumpman logo is used on the side panels of the shoe as well as on the tongue. The black cords finish a very nice edition to the Jordan 2011 stable of kicks that continue to drop.
The 2011 season has seen the re-emergence of the Air Jordan signature sneaker. The original Jordan 2011 was received to rave reviews for both sneakerheads and Jordanheads. After suffering through the two years of incomprehensible Jordan models that brought us in 2009 and 2010, the Jordan signature shoe 2011 was not only a welcome relief, it was a model that revived the Air Jordan line. This shoe brought back both the ultimate design and performance that the Jordan kick has enjoyed from the start. 2011 took performance to another level by allowing ballers to use two separate insoles to take the court. If you were a baller who had an explosive game, you had a pair of red insoles to dive into Jordan. On the other hand, if you were a baller who needed improved responsiveness, you could hit a blue insole in your Jordan. No matter what type of player you were, Jordan 2011 had an insole that best suited your game.
Due to the success of 2011, Jordan Brand has released other models with similar technology at a lower price point than the flagship model which had a price tag of $ 170. The new Jordan 2011 A Flight is one of those models and will be priced at $ 120. It will also release soon on Footlocker.com and Finishline.com this month.
The NBA lockout did not affect the Jordan Signature sneakers. We will continue to see new Jordan shoes for basketball and that is really good news.
